What is streaming audio/video?

Streaming audio or video is a method of media delivery in which the audio or video will play on the client's computer before the file has finished downloading. In other words, as the beginning of the file is downloaded, the audio or video will begin to play, and will continue to play as long as the process of downloading (streaming) continues uninterrupted.
